FAQs

  • Are children invited? Kids are welcome. On the RSVP there is a spot for guests to tell us how many children will attend.
  • What should I wear? Your summer best yet casual and comfortable. Comfortable shoes are a must - if you ever wanted to wear flip flops to a wedding, here is your opportunity. Lauren will be barefoot during the ceremony and will wear flip flops at the reception. Jon will be in linen but also in flip flops. A summer sundress and whatever the male equivalent to a summer dress is, are encouraged. It's Colorado in June, so it could be very hot or it could rain; since we will be in the foothills, it will get cool in the evening. Colorado's weather is unpredictable - anything can happen and, perhaps, it could all happen within an hour.
  • Ceremony: The ceremony will be brief but good so please be on time.
  • Food and Drink: There will be food and drinks at the reception. BBQ-style dinner (sliders, potato salad, homemade chips, coleslaw, baked beans, etc) and a dessert bar. There will be plenty of variety for those picky peeps. There will be beer, wine, water, soda and other refreshments. Because it is a park, there is no glass allowed.
  • Reception Activities: There will be sand volleyball, horseshoes, yard ball, and corn hole. Be prepared to compete!
  • Does the hotel have a pool? YES YES YES. The hotel has a pool and free breakfast! ***Update*** The Hampton Inn has a pool but the Best Western is in a remodel (Ugh) so will not have a pool open to the public.
  • What time is the wedding? The CEREMONY is at 2:30pm at Red Rocks Trading Post. The RECEPTION is at 4-ish-8pm at Bear Creek Lake Park Pelican Point Picnic area.
  • Is there a fee to enter Red Rocks or Bear Creek Lake Park? Just Bear Creek Lake Park - $5-$7 depending on your age. It is per vehicle so please CARPOOL.
  • I heard Denver is the "Mile High City." It is. Please plan on drinking extra water and wear sunscreen!
